Rooted In Resilience
With your help, NRFF will put down roots and bring our Mission to life
Native Roots Farm Foundation (NRFF) was connected to a property owner eager to sell their land to an organization that will ensure the natural world is cared for and thrives, the site is not developed, and the community can embrace it. NRFF is now in the process of purchasing these 50-acres in Georgetown, DE.
Our capital campaign, Rooted in Resilience, is a multi-year, multi-phase effort that will enable us to fund the land purchase and create our Hakihakán.
In this first phase, we need to raise $1 million by January 2026 to buy the 50-acre property. We need your help to raise these funds and build NRFF’s future. By making a gift today, you will be part of a grassroots community that is coming together to restore Indigenous sovereignty and sustain the entire community’s resilience today and for generations to come.
Over the next three years, we will raise a total of $3 million to purchase the site, nurture the land with Indigenous stewardship practices, build infrastructure, and bring NRFF’s Mission to life and reclaim, cultivate, and celebrate Native relationships with land, plants, and community for the next Seven Generations.
PHASE ONE: will support NRFF in purchasing the land for $1 million
PHASE TWO: will enable NRFF to make essential on-site improvements for daily operations
PHASE THREE: will fully realize NRFF’s vision of a Hakihakàn with culturally grounded programming and a visitors center
By acquiring this land we will gain a permanent, physical space to house our culturally meaningful and impactful programming, revitalize Indigenous ecological knowledge, deepen relationships with native plants, grow and care for culturally meaningful seeds, and demonstrate what a sustainable relationship with the natural world can look like.

Our Stewardship Plan
NRFF leads dynamic, hands-on programs and a few are featured in this photo gallery. As NRFF stewards this property and creates our Hakihakàn, we will build a space for community connection and healing that deepens people’s relationships with the natural world and one another. The Hakihakàn will serve as a living classroom and hub for intertribal gatherings, ensuring knowledge is shared across generations and communities. This space will help reconnect fragmented landscapes of practice and memory — bridging gardens, yards, forests, and farmlands into a broader network of conservation action.
With your support we will:
Uplift Indigenous ecological knowledge including:
Nurturing a food forest
Cultivating a Three Sisters Garden
Restoring Indigenous land stewardship practices
Celebrate Indigenous sovereignty:
Reconnect local tribal members with our homelands, plant relatives, and each other
Build NRFF’s Hakihakàn:
Identify native plants in Indigenous languages
Create a space centering community
Connect all people with the natural world
We have the opportunity to bring our mission to life and we need your help
Your support will assist NRFF in revitalizing Indigenous land stewardship practices, rematriating culturally significant plants, and sharing Indigenous ecological knowledge.
We are grateful for your generosity and support! All funds raised will be used by NRFF for land acquisition and development.
